It’s well known that sports activities provide a fantastic opportunity for improved health, peer and social interaction, as well as the development of key leadership skills. They teach responsibility, and enrich the minds of youngsters through structure, organization, and problem solving which in turn facilitate cognitive development and growth. Sports activities also provide a stimulating sensory and organizational experience.

There is just no escaping the progression of technology. From computers to smartphones, it is our future, but more importantly, it is our students’ future. We all know how excited our students are to work on the computer in the classroom and the therapy room. The iPad is an even better tool to engage and motivate our students. It is more interactive, and it allows for better positioning and personal connection which is vital to articulation therapy and rapport building.

Jim will have dual roles one as Clinical Director of Occupational Therapy Services (myTherapyCompany) and the other as Director of Clinical Services for Pathways to Speech.  Jim will be doing direct therapy services, mentoring and supervision, and market & program development throughout the Souther California region.

Jim has been specializing in pediatrics for the past 10 of his 14 years as an Occupational Therapist. He graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 1997, and began his career working as a traveling therapist for Richard’s Heathcare based out of Houston, Texas.  In 1999, Jim started working at Therapy West in Los Angeles, a pediatric SI clinic where he eventually earned his SI certification.  Jim later took up a brief role as a school-based clinician working with the Long Beach Unified School District until 2003, at which time he joined my formerly owned company, Sunbelt/Progressus Therapy. While at Progressus Therapy, Jim worked as both a school-based clinician, mentor, and an early intervention program manager.
