About Our Founder and CEO

Michael McBurnie is the President and Founder of MyTherapyCompany.com (MTC), a healthcare staffing and consulting company specializing in the employment of speech language pathologists.

Mr. McBurnie was the former President and CEO of Progressus Therapy, Inc., which he founded in 1999. Progressus was the leading provider of special education services to school districts throughout the U.S. At the time of the sale of Progressus in 2004 to Sylvan Education Solutions, Mr. McBurnie oversaw a staff of 350 healthcare employees with offices in five states.

Mr. McBurnie is as well the founder of Medical Resources International (MRI). MRI contracted allied health and nursing professionals to hospitals and long term care facilities in twenty states. MRI provided licensure support, visas, travel arrangements and orientation to the U.S. medical system to over 500 international healthcare professionals over a period of six years. Mr. McBurnie developed international offices in seven countries for the purpose of recruitment of therapists to the U.S.

Prior to founding Progressus, Mr. McBurnie oversaw the development and implementation of the school based therapy program at Sunbelt Staffing as Vice President. At the time of the spin-off to Progressus from Sunbelt, Mr. McBurnie managed a staff of 200 employees.

Mr. McBurnie is an expert in the field of healthcare staffing as relates to Special Education and early interventions, Government and State Regulations and Business Development. He has hired and trained staff successfully for the past 20 years. He currently serves as a board member on a number of non-profit foundations devoted to health and environment issues, and is the current director of a political action committee which is devoted to the issues of clean air and water.

Mr. McBurnie has a life-long interest in holistic health and personal development.

Mr. McBurnie resides in Boulder CO and Pasadena CA with his wife and 2 dogs.
